A Double Virtual Concert by Atash and Pilar Andújar at One2One

I believe that dreams are within our grasp, but sometimes we have to dare to jump even if we do not see the bottom of the pool.”
Pilar Andújar, El Salto (translated from the Spanish)

On September 11, 2021, for the first time since the start of the lockdowns in 2020 globe-trotting ambassadors of international music Atash and Pilar Andújar shall return to the stage of One2One in Austin, Texas. This high-production-value live-streamed pay-per-view double bill represents a new approach to performance in the Live Music Capital of the World: a partnership between the venue, local businesses and international artists to produce a well-curated online experience to be enjoyed in the comfort of your own pod.

Cantautora-bailaora Pilar Andújar (Valencia, Spain) opens the night with the presentation of her newly released libro-disco El Salto (The Jump): the intimate artistic diary of the five-year journey recovering her shattered inner and outer pieces after a three-meter leap in a dance performance nearly ended her flamenco dancing career. In the past five years she has also found her voice as a singer-songwriter, garnering accolades for her debut album, Andrò.

Austin’s own award-winning global music ambassadors, Atash returns to the stage of One2One to close the night, their first performance since March of 2020. The group achieved the milestones of premiering their orchestral collaboration with St. Stephen’s Global Orchestra to a standing ovation at Carnegie Hall in 2018, followed by a tour of Spain in 2019. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, they now stand ready to spread their reinvigorated message of global peace and harmony, celebrating the resilience of the human spirit with an exhilarating sound that brings together all walks of life.

One2One has long been an Austin institution for the music community, offering a friendly venue with state-of-the-art sound to Austin’s best musicians. Former owners Gregg and Destinee Ware continued this commitment during the pandemic by offering a new way for musicians to share their art in the form of high-quality live-streamed concerts, under the guidance of resident house engineer Curt Ganem. The challenge of months of shutdowns eventually forced the Wares to sell the business, but new owner Flip Lockhoof has kept the former owners on board as consultants as we enter the next phase of the pandemic. Now utilizing the best air-filtration and sanitizing systems from companies such as Texas Sanitizing Solutions, One2One offers a safe and intimate experience both online and live for its patrons and musicians. The venue is also partnering with other local businesses and the artist community to offer an amazing and unique experience.

SIMS Foundation is the only organization in the nation that provides behavioral healthcare to musicians, music industry professionals, and their dependent family members. It has led the effort to bring emotional wellbeing and destigmatization for seeking mental healthcare to the forefront of the conversation for over 25 years. Founded in 1995, SIMS Foundation has helped thousands of people access mental health and recovery support. SIMS continues to lead the way to ensure emotional well-being is a priority for our community, working to eliminate stigma, educate the public, and arm the music community with the resources needed to look out for themselves, and each other. In 2020 alone, they assisted over 800 individuals, provided over 1,200 hours of case management, and provided over 10,000 counseling sessions to the Austin music community.
